COOPERATING GROWER AGREEMENT FORM

The Cooperator Agrees To:
1.  Work with the ACCF in conducting the research outlined below.
2.  Conduct at the Cooperator location(s) as appropriate, research directed toward the growing and testing the field performance of all-American chestnuts from the ACCF breeding program.  Activities include:
    a.  Plant and grow American chestnut seedlings, scionwood and seednuts sent out by the ACCF to the Cooperator.  The number of trees sent each year will be the Cooperator's  decision.
    b.  Report each fall to the ACCF on the number surviving and progress of all surviving American chestnuts which were grown from scionwood, seedlings and/or seednuts in the ACCF breeding program.  Location(s) of the planting(s), with a rough map, should be included.  The individual  agrees that all other reports or copies of reports concerning these American chestnuts will be sent with the ACCF report.
    c.  Participate with the ACCF director(s) or officer(s) in evaluating the field blight resistance and forest tree form of all-American chestnuts sent to the Cooperator by the ACCF,  to be done when the trees are of sufficient size (usually > 1 inch diameter at breast height  (dbh)).
    d.  Include ACCF representative(s) (directors or officers) as coauthor(s) in the preparation of manuscripts and publication of papers resulting from the research described above.
I agree to the above as a Cooperator of the ACCF.  Further, I pledge that the chestnut grove which I plan to establish will be 100% all-American and that genetic materials, i.e., germplasm, nuts, trees or scions from my ACCF chestnuts will not be used in hybrid or other breeding programs without specific permission from ACCF directors, and they will not be given to others who have not submitted this form to the ACCF.

A 2008 donation ($20) to ACCF research is required with all nut or seedling requests.

Please send me some of this fall's seednuts; I would like to plant ____ (no more than 10) nuts.
The 2008 minimum cost for 25 or fewer seedlings mailed Priority is $30.  West of the Mississippi, add $5 for higher mailing cost.  Please send me (how many)_______ American chestnut seedlings.  By December, I shall have dug the holes and made protection cages.

Dedicated to the restoration of American chestnuts
